Fred Anderson Park

Chicago, IL
Altamanu worked closely with the Chicago Park District to develop Fred Anderson Park in Chicago’s South Loop. Named after famous saxophonist Fred Anderson, who died in 2010, this park contains a performance stage, an audience gathering area and two innovative dog friendly areas. The dog friendly areas are divided into small and large dog areas, and include artificial turf, shade structures, seating elements, pet friendly amenities such as drinking fountains and bag dispensers, and custom water features for dogs to play in. The most popular park feature is an overlook and seat wall that allows dog owners to sit and socialize with each other while their dogs play.
