The new Ridgeland Common Recreation Complex in Oak Park, IL included a complete building reconstruction with expanded use of a modernized ice rink and workout studios for year round activity indoors as well as a state-of-the-art synthetic turf sports complex field for outdoor use. These exterior facilities include updated sport-specific lighting and custom fencing for soccer, baseball, softball as well as batting cages.
Separate park and building entrance plazas welcome the community with custom curved benches and inviting routes to the fields and to the building and renovated pool area. An off-leash dog area provides a communal gathering space. The renovated swimming pool is modified with composite wood decking and various shade structures as well as a new children’s wading pool with several water features.
The site features native landscape plantings and site furnishings such as benches, bike racks, and trash receptacles to create a cohesive sports complex.
